Nintendo has sold around 10 million of the units of Switch console throughout the world

Nintendo, last month in December announced that it has sold around 10 million of the units of Switch console throughout the world. When this has been translated into the sales, the 10 million of the units has generated more than $ 3 billion of the revenue when each of the consoles is priced at the cost of $ 300.

It can also topple the first year of the sales of Wii in case sales of Switch continue to grow stronger in the holiday season

According to the reports generated by Variety, in case the sales of the Switch would continue to grow stronger in the holiday season then it will topple the first year of the sales of Wii too. The company had claimed that the sales for the first year could be 16.7 million which would be higher than the 300 million of the units that have been sold in the first year of the Nintendo Wii.

There were around 2.6 million of units which were sold in the US alone

The reports have suggested that the information of the sales in the US has not yet been disclosed but it has been estimated that there would be around 2.6 million of the units which were sold in the US. The three of the gaming titles by the name of the Legend, Breath of Wild, Mario art 8 Delux as well as the Super Mario Odyssey –all these were actually purchased by around 50% of the Swiss users. There is another game by the name of Splatoon 2 which was bought by 25% of the switch users.

Nintendo still predicts that it will be selling around 14 million of units by the end of year 2018

The company has also received quite a good support from few of the gaming publishers like EA as well as the Ubisoft. This Switch was released in the spring season and the company still predicts that it will be selling around 14 million of the units by the end of the year 2018.Earlier the estimate was of just around 10 million of units. Well, this number would be putting the Switch on the path that could beat the lifetime sales of the Nintendo’s previous console’s sales which is the Wii U and that too in less than 12 months.

It is still to be seen how the Switch can keep up the momentum in the year 2018

The sale of Wii U was around 5 million of the units over a period of five years. The company’s President Reggie Aime claimed that there might be the possibility that the Switch would be able to beat the first year’s sales of the Wii but only in case it continues to sell well during the holiday season too. It is still to be seen how the Switch can keep up the momentum in the year 2018.
