The cable provider by the name of Cablevision had requested the court order for stopping the sale of the Roku devices all over the country. The reason being all the hackers are using the Roku devices to offer the pirated content to the viewers from the channels like HBO, ESPN along with the various channels of Televisa.

This is actually resulting in the big market for the third party pirated channels which are providing viewers an access to the premium content at a small fee. People are entering into the deals through the Whats App messenger and they are actually giving their account details for making the payments. In turn customers are receiving the URL’s for the custom channels and also an activation code in return.

The pirated channels are offering access to the live TV programming and the on demand content from the channels like the HBO. All this has led to a big problem in the Mexico and now the court has ordered to all the local retail shops to stop importing as well as selling Roku devices. This lawsuit was put forwarded by Cable Vision which is a cable TV operator owned by the Televisa.The firm has received an order from the court to block the sales of Roku last month.

The Roku Company’s officials said that they will continue to fight this legal battle for letting their devices legally approved for their sales in the Mexico. However the Cablevision quoted that the Roku Company should better supervise all its devices so that their software is not used in an inappropriate manner. But last week Roku devices were available for sale on some of the leading online retail stores .In fact last year itself, more than half of the streaming devices sold in US were from the Roku Company.
Hackers have been utilizing the Whats App messenger for securing deals with customers
Hackers in the Mexico have been utilizing the Whats App messenger and have been offering the Roku owners an illegal access to different types of monthly packages for various television channels. In few of the cases, customers are even asked to make the payment at the nearby convenient stores. They can then send the snapshot of the receipt to the hackers. The Roku Company despite of the ban disagrees with the decision and said that it will continue to fight to secure its legal as well as the constitutional rights to sell its products across Mexico.
