The Apple Company is now testing the advanced 3D face scanning feature

The Apple coming is now working on another striking feature that will enable the iPhone users to unlock their phones using their faces rather than fingerprinting. The company is now testing the advanced 3D face scanning feature that will be allowing the users to log in into their devices and also to authenticate the payments by just scanning their faces. The tech giant is now in the midst of testing an innovative way to unlock all its phones by utilizing the 3D face scanning sensors and also the retinal scanning feature.

The speed and accuracy will actually be the focal points of this innovative tool

The speed and the accuracy will actually be the focal points of this innovative tool. It has been reported that it will be working in time less than few hundred milliseconds. So if this new report is to believed then the fingerprinting technology in the iPhones will be replaced by the 3D facial recognition feature .According to the Bloomberg’s report, the company is testing this new technology and it would be integrating this 3D facial recognition tool to its upcoming iPhone 8.The back bone of this technology is the advanced 3D sensor and there will be an additional feature of the iris scanning too.

The recognition capabilities of the 3D sensor would be greatly improved

The recognition capabilities of the 3D sensor would be greatly improved and it will be taking few hundreds of the milliseconds for unlocking the iPhone. It will also be in the position to recognize the face even when the phone will be lying on the table. Since the 3D scanners are utilizing the data points, this technology will be much more secure in comparison to the fingerprinting scanner. This technology is still in work and you may have to wait for a bit longer time than the much awaited iPhone 7s or the iPhone 8 itself. The reason why Apple and other companies are actually moving towards the 3D sensor technology is that it will be allowing the users to log in into their devices from any of the angles rather than posing straight in front of their smart phones.

The company came up with Touch ID in the year 2013 in its iPhone 5s

The iris scanner which Samsung came up with on its Galaxy S8 didn’t gathered striking reviews and it was reported that it can be easily duped out with the 2D image. But looking at the 3D scanners they will surely be much more full proof. Earlier the Apple Company had acquired Prime Sense in the year 2013 and the firm dealt in the facial recognition technology itself. It was only after the deal people have started speculating that Apple will be integrating the facial recognition technology on its phones either sooner or later. The company also came up with the Touch ID in the year 2013 in its iPhone 5s .This forward facing and advanced 3D scanner will also be allowing few of the other interesting things like the gesture recognition and the good this is that it won’t be requiring the close up of the user’s face for unlocking the phone.
